Use clean, dry hands. Remove jewellery that could catch the weave and support the fabric when moving it.
Before storing, make sure the piece is fully dry. Keep it away from damp cupboards, direct sunlight and heat.
Use clean, prewashed cotton muslin or acid-free tissue. Support folds softly and avoid heavy stacking or sealed dry-cleaning garment bags.
Inspect for damp, insects and stressed folds. Gently change fold positions periodically, with the fabric supported on a clean surface.
Follow the instructions supplied with your individual piece. Before washing, stain treatment or pressing, ask the team or a specialist familiar with silk and embellishments.
Avoid rubbing zari, embroidery or loose threads. Do not pull snags; ask for advice before attempting a repair.
Always follow the care instructions supplied with your piece. Fabric, dyes, zari and embroidery can need different treatment.
